About Our School

The Academy of Arts, Careers, and Technology (AACT) in Reno, Nevada, is a Career Technical Education (CTE) high school within the Washoe County School District. Established in 2009, AACT is designed to offer students specialized career and technical education alongside traditional academic subjects. The school emphasizes hands-on learning, preparing students for both college and careers in various fields such as culinary arts, engineering, business, and health sciences.

Since its inception, AACT has consistently evolved to meet the needs of its students and the demands of the modern workforce. The school was established with the goal of bridging the gap between traditional education and practical career skills, providing a unique learning environment that emphasizes both academic rigor and technical expertise.

Recognized as Northern Nevada's top-ranked high school (3rd in the state, and  352nd in the Nation), AACT boasts a 100 percent graduation rate for the last eight years.  AACT has a reputation for its innovative approach to education, integrating real-world experiences with classroom instruction. Students have the opportunity to earn industry certifications, participate in internships, and engage in project-based learning. Over the years, AACT forged partnerships with local businesses and organizations, enhancing its curriculum and providing students with valuable networking opportunities.
